Access to Information/Privacy Policy

Cypress County respects the privacy of our staff, residents, and customers.

If you choose to provide personal information to Cypress County through an online form on our website, we will clearly state the purpose for which the information is being collected and the legal authority under which it is collected. We only collect the information necessary for that purpose, and it will be used solely for the purpose it was collected or for a purpose consistent with it.

If you provide personal information via email, it will be used only to respond to your inquiry or provide the requested service. Any personal information that is not required will be securely managed in accordance with county policies.

Cypress County collects, uses, and discloses personal information in accordance with Alberta’s Access to Information Act (ATIA) and Protection of Privacy Act (POPA).

Privacy Management Program
Cypress County is currently developing its Privacy Management Program (PMP) as required under the Protection of Privacy Act (POPA). We are committed to transparency and will publish the program on this page once it is finalized.
