Grain Elevator Book Exchange Is Now Underway
On February 28th, 2017, the Cypress Early Childhood Coalition launched the 1st Grain Elevator Book Exchange to promote children’s literacy in the County. Cypress County residents are welcome to take a book free of charge, and drop off other books in good condition in exchange. The 1st Book Exchange box is located in front of Premium Sausage in Seven Persons. Marilyn Fisher of the Cypress Early Childhood Coalition announced the opening. Cypress County Council members for the area Richard Oster and Dustin Vossler were in attendance to acknowledge the importance of literacy, and to represent the County who helped sponsor the construction of the various Book Exchange Grain Elevators that will be placed in different communities throughout the County. In addition, there were representatives from the Prairie Rose School Division, as well as Mark and Debbie Penner, who own and operate Premium Sausage. The next Grain Elevator Book Exchange location will be announced, and setup in the coming weeks.
